What DayAfter is

DayAfter is an iOS application that helps caregivers capture, structure, and share information from medical appointments. It uses on-device transcription and third-party AI services to produce plain-language summaries. DayAfter is not a medical device, is not a substitute for professional medical advice, and has not been reviewed or approved by any health authority.

Not medical advice

Summaries generated by DayAfter are AI-produced interpretations of recorded or entered text. They may contain errors, omissions, or misinterpretations. Always verify important medical information with your healthcare provider. Do not make treatment decisions based solely on DayAfter output.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for ensuring you have consent to record any medical appointment, in accordance with the laws of your jurisdiction. In British Columbia and most Canadian provinces, one-party consent applies — you may record a conversation you are part of. However, it is your responsibility to understand the laws that apply to you.

You are responsible for the accuracy and appropriateness of any information you share from DayAfter with family members or others.

AI services

DayAfter uses Anthropic's Claude API to generate summaries. API requests are sent directly from your device to Anthropic's servers over HTTPS. Only scrubbed transcript text is sent — personal identifiers are removed before transmission. DayAfter does not proxy, store, or log these requests. Anthropic's handling of API data is governed by their own policies.

Your data

Audio recordings are stored locally on your iPhone and never leave your device. Structured data — transcripts, summaries, care subject profiles, and tasks — syncs through Apple's CloudKit Private Database under your iCloud account. DayAfter does not operate its own backend database and does not have access to your iCloud data. Certain features require an active iCloud account signed in with your Apple ID. Analytics

DayAfter collects anonymous usage analytics through PostHog (EU-hosted) to improve the product. Analytics events track feature usage patterns — they never include medical content, transcript text, or personal identifiers. You can opt out of analytics in the app's settings.

The website

The DayAfter website (dayafter.app) is a marketing and information site. If you join the waitlist, your email address is stored by Buttondown, our email service provider. Your email is used only to notify you about DayAfter availability and updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Intellectual property

DayAfter, its design, code, and content are the property of Dickens Leung. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer the application or its components without written permission.

Limitation of liability

DayAfter is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, DayAfter and its developer shall not be liable for any damages arising from your use of the application, including but not limited to medical decisions made based on AI-generated summaries.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of DayAfter after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada.
